Amit Khare was born in the Kayastha family in North India. He completed his school education in Kendriya Vidyalaya, situated in Hinoo. It is based in the region of Jharkhand. Subsequently, he did his bachelor’s with honors through Stephen’s College, situated in Delhi. Amit Khare is a younger brother of an Indian Foreign Service officer, Atul Khare.

Amit Khare is an IAS officer belonging to the 1985 batch. Due to his involvement in education, he has also functioned as a state elementary education secretary and has also assisted in initiating NEP 2020. This new education policy was also endorsed by the cabinet. The IAS officer has even worked as a chief secretary to the Governor of Jharkhand.

Amit Khare was the one to reveal the Fodder Scam, in which approximately 940 crores were robbed in the state of Bihar. For this, the subsequent CMs Lalu Prasad Yadav, as well as Jagannath Mishra, were detained.  

He has moreover worked as a secretary in the ministry of data as well as broadcasting. Furthermore, he attained the post of secretary of the ministry of education, in the Department of Higher Education in 2019. Finally on Oct 12th, 2021 he has been appointed as the advisor of PM Narendra Modi. In his entire 36 years until now he undertook several crucial positions in the Government of Jharkhand as well as Bihar.
