Being a re-employed 1972 batch IAS officer belonging to Gujarat Cadre, Pramod Kumar Mishra, Ph.D., is often abbreviated to as PK Mishra. Pramod Kumar Mishra holds a degree of graduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. in Economics. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Development Economics.

Career

Pramod Kumar Mishra has served in various positions for both governments Union and Gujarat State as Principal Secretary (Agriculture and Cooperation), Addition Chief Secretary (Revenue), Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Member of the Gujarat Electricity Board, and as the District Magistrate and Collector of Mahesana and Banaskantha districts on the Gujarat Government, the Additional Secretary in Ministry of Urban Development, Union Agriculture Secretary, and as the Member Secretary of National Capital Region Planning Board in the Union Government, and Special Secretary in Ministry of Home Affairs, apart from serving as the Additional Principal Secretary in the PMO.

After retired from the Indian Administrative Service, He was appointed as the Chairman of the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) by the Chief Minister of Gujarat. It was on 11th August 2013 his term as the Chairman of GERC can to an end when he attained the age of 65.
